What To Level Next

01 May

I want to know what class you would like to see me focus on next.

The Paladin class has obviously been the focus of my posts here lately, and Lexington is just about to reach the Outlands. When I get a character up in that range, I generally prefer to have my Rested bar as full as I can to help it go a little faster because I really do not enjoy the Outlands area much and prefer to get through it as quickly as possible.

In order to allow Lexington to build up a rested bonus, I need another character to play while he takes a long awaited break at the nearest inn.

I set up the poll below to gather your thoughts on which class I should do next, but I decided to list only three. These are the three classes that I would personally prefer to level. But, I also left it open so that you could put your own answer in there if you would rather I take a look at doing another class instead.

I vote for rogue or warlock because they’re both full of love and win. Why no, I’m not biased. Why do you ask?

Biased? You!? No, certainly you would have told me to go with a priest if you were biased.

I’d say it depends on what other alts you already have. Personally I have a mage for dps and a priest for healing. That way whenever I fancy a break from tanking I have my pick of roles to fill on an alt. :)

PS> I voted for Shaman on your poll.

    Mage! Mage! Mage!

I’ve fallen hard for the class and I want to see more mage blogs.

@Cassini – Thanks for the comment. I think I now have every type of alt except for two: Priest and Warrior.

Both classes I can’t seem to get beyond level 8 or so without nodding off until my head slams into my keyboard. I hear they get better after you level them up a ways, but so far those two just aren’t for me.

My first real main character is Psynister (Undead Mage 80) on Blackwing Lair. He fills the ranged DPS role and my paladin fits every other role except for raid heals, which is why both Druid and Shaman are on the list.

    @Kimberly
I’ve noticed quite a lack of mage blogs as well. Mine sort of started out that way, but it started towards the end of Psynister’s leveling career. I have been giving a lot of consideration to rolling another mage on the new server though, as it has a much different economy than my previous one.

On Blackwing Lair a horde mage has to fight with other mages in trade chat to be able to sell ports, typically 1-2g if you’re lucky and there are only a few other mages online at the time. On my new server though, mages are very rare and it is nearly impossible to get a port for less than 10g. And unless you know the mage personally, then you are probably actually going to spend 20g even if you are going from Org to UC. We have two mages in my current guild, and they felt so much like taxi services while they were leveling that they only offer you a single port in your career, and that’s to Dalaran.

Whether the mage comes up next or not, I am always available for any advice on the class.

The shaman is closing in on the druid pretty quick there, and I already have a desire to have a mage on this server with how helpful it was on my previous server.

Hmm…..I can see three new toons getting rolled in my near future.

Having already leveled a mage I might just get him power leveled as much as possible rather than going through the solo leveling process. We’ll see on that one.

A druid I will most likely level solo, posting notes on the process here. With how fun the class can be, I think I have to roll one regardless.

The shaman I have to figure out. I really want to roll another shaman and give it an honest chance since my original main was a shaman that I deleted at 35. I know they are slow pre-40, but I might be able to change that now that I have a better understanding of the game.

Officially calling this poll to a close with Druid and Shaman tied at 4 votes each.
