New Zone Level Ranges

I must say, I’ve had a blast leveling toons since the release of Cataclysm. I’ve found my share of bugs and such as well, but for the most part I love it.

There are some very fun and exciting new quests for us to explore, level ranges of certain zones changed to provide a much better flow from one zone to another, and the physical changes just from looking at the zones now mean that I’m actually questing in places that I completely avoided before. And with so many things being new and improved I actually have a desire to break away from my traditional questing routes and just go out and actually enjoy the rest of Azeroth.

But that’s enough Blizz’praise for one day, it’s time to get down to business. Change. It happened. If you’re anything like me you tend to find some zones that you like to level in for whatever reason and you kind of stick to those. Maybe you like the quests or the quest rewards, maybe you always level your toons with dual gathering professions and know where all the best nodes are, maybe you just like how things look there, and maybe that’s just how you did it the first time and it worked for you once so you’ve stuck to it.

Whatever the reasons may be, it’s time to throw the old routine out the window and take a brand new look at the world. For the most part, zones remained roughly the same levels they were before, shifting just a little bit either higher or lower. But some of the zones took some pretty major changes, some up and some down. So before you go rushing off to that next zone as you’ve done with every other character you’ve leveled in the last 7 years or so, you might want to take a look down here and make sure you’re not about to run headfirst into a corpse run when that wolf that used to be 5 levels lower than you is now 15 levels higher.

You may also find that the zones you used to have questing hubs in have now been taken over by one faction or another and running into an area that used to be safe is now filled with targets ready to attack you on sight.

In the sections below, zones that are not questing hubs have been removed as well as cities.

Concerning the maps, zones are color coded by faction as follows: Alliance (Blue), Horde (Red), Contested (Yellow)
