Rift Tweeps
After finding success on keeping up the WoW Tweeps list, I figured I might as well create the same thing for Rift since there are a very large number of people that I follow on twitter who are moving over to play it now instead of or in addition to World of Warcraft.
I don’t play Rift myself (yet now), so this is the only Rift-related resource you’ll find on my this blog related to Rift (for now), but hopefully it can help put you in contact with other players.
If you are not on this list, but would like to be, simply leave a reply here and I will get your information added. In your reply give me your Twitter User Name, Server-Country (Faction), the name of your Main character, that character’s Calling, and your Guild if you wish. If you play on more than one server just give me your top 2 servers you plan to be on the most. Also, feel free to give me a link to your guild’s website and I’ll include it in the list.

If you would like an easy way to follow all of the Rift players on this list within twitter, you can do so by following my Rift Tweeps list on twitter itself.
If you wish to contact someone in game on a given server, I suggest you do so by contacting them first via Twitter, as I do not intend to track every character name in this list for the sake of making it easier to maintain.

I talked to Fyn during lunch today and I think we’re going to go ahead and try it out to see what it’s like since it does have some features we’d both like to see. I doubt it will displace WoW as my game of choice, but who knows.

Got you updated, bud.
I think the WoW Tweeps list turned out to be rather successful and useful to a number of people. A lot of the twitter users who are on this list are now shifting over to Rift regardless of whether or not they’re leaving WoW behind, and the games are still similar enough that I wouldn’t be surprised to see a great number of people playing both for a time before they decide to drop one or the other.
Starting this list now as the game is released gives a lot more potential as people don’t yet feel tied down to a single server if they see friends they’d rather play with elsewhere.
